What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality is a fully immersive experience that has a wide variety of purposes, including great educational benefits. This allows for a novel learning experience that is both satisfying and engaging.
Virtual reality can improve education by providing students with memorable experiences and the ability to interact with the material that would otherwise not be possible. It has the potential to save time, energy, and money in general labs and provides an opportunity to adventure broad experiences and travel to different places around the world.
Why VR?
The ATLAS program has created a catalog of virtual reality hardware and software, along with other equipment such as headsets and controllers. This catalog contains virtual reality apps that are available for use on the Oculus. As we return to more in person activities, we plan to use this VR equipment for academic purposes.
